GENERAL INFORMATION OF THE PROGRAM

Office Management and Secretarial Program; It is a four-semester higher education program that aims to train qualified intermediate manpower who can contribute to the office work of managers in public institutions and organizations and private sector enterprises and to take part in office activities. Vocational staff in the field of office management and secretarial; It is an office staff who has a place in the management staff, who is knowledgeable about office management, who can show the ability to take responsibility without taking direct orders, who can make decisions within the limits of the authority given to him, as well as implementing the decisions and responsibilities taken.

 

PURPOSE

Office Management and Executive Assistantship Program aims to train executive assistants for the management of all public institutions and organizations and private sector enterprises. In an environment where industrial and commercial developments are experienced, both public and private enterprises are increasing, it is planned to train people who have the knowledge and skills to assist the office work of the managers and who can adapt to the changing and developing business world conditions. In line with this goal, it aims to provide the necessary education and training for the expert workforce who can fulfill the clerical service according to the management functions, who can make an effective contribution to the manager's work and internal functioning.

The program, which covers a four-semester training program, is intended to meet the ever-increasing need for a workforce in the form of trained clerical staff. In this process, training is given for their professional development.

 

DEGREE EARNED

120 ECTS credits of the program is successfully completed and when the program qualifications are met, an Associate Degree in Office Management and Executive Assistantship is obtained.

ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Vocational High School Office Management and Secretariat graduates who want to enroll in the program with the application of transition from Vocational High Schools to Vocational Colleges without examination can register within the quota by benefiting from the transition without examination within the framework of the criteria determined by ÖSYM. In the event that the quota is not completed through the exam-free transition, the placement to the program according to the results of the YGS exam is also carried out by ÖSYM.

 

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

If a student who enrolls in the program has previously taken courses in another Vocational School, the credits, ECTS credits and contents of these courses are accepted according to the criteria specified in the relevant regulations of our university and YÖK and the student is exempted from these courses.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND RULES

Students who take a maximum of 100 hours of courses in total and complete all of them and complete 120 ECTS credits in this way, complete 30 ECTS of these 120 ECTS from elective courses and achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are eligible to receive an associate degree.

 

PROGRAM PROFILE

Level 5 is an associate degree program that aims to gain academic and professional competencies. The Office Management and Executive Assistantship program carries out an education plan with the aim of developing executive assistants. The program consists of compulsory and elective courses determined by YÖK and the university, as well as compulsory and vocational courses and elective courses for the profession.

Compulsory courses are the courses determined by the Council of Higher Education or the university and are compulsory for all programs, as well as courses that aim to provide basic and common competencies for the department and/or program.

Vocational courses are courses aimed at gaining competencies related to the profession. Vocational courses are selected and applied from the course plan by the educational institutions according to the competency table within the framework of the relevant legislation. While determining the duration, content, assessment, evaluation and teaching methods of the selected vocational courses, the explanations in the qualification table, course information forms, module information forms and process analysis are taken as basis.

Elective courses consist of vocational and social courses selected from the courses in the relevant program or other programs, taking into account the individual development of the student and increasing the quality of life, sectoral and regional needs, the conditions of the educational institution and the acquisition of additional competencies that will contribute to the employment of the student, interdisciplinary studies, etc.

While determining the vocational courses, modules and elective courses to be applied in the program; sector demands, regional needs, conditions of the educational institution and student orientations are taken into consideration. The content and duration of the courses are planned in accordance with the explanations in the competency table, course information forms, module information forms and process analysis.

Course information forms and module information forms in the program are a guide in education and training planning and are prepared according to the current conditions. Updates are made in the course information forms and module information forms, which are intended to gain competence when necessary for the continuous reflection of the developments in business life and technology in the programs.

The student's practical and applied workplace training in the relevant sector is carried out within the framework of the principles and procedures determined by the Higher Education Council.

Office Management and Executive Assistantship Program graduates have a wide range of job opportunities and have employment opportunities in all private sector enterprises and public institutions, universities, law offices, foundations, associations, in short, in all kinds of enterprises with offices. They work as Office Manager, Office Services Specialist, Senior Management Assistant, Executive Assistant.

 

TRANSITION TO HIGHER DEGREE PROGRAMS

Graduates with an associate degree can transfer to undergraduate programs by Vertical Transfer Examination according to the criteria determined by YÖK.

 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

In order to be awarded an associate degree diploma; the student must have completed the associate degree program of the department in which he / she is enrolled by taking at least (DD) and / or (S) grade from each of the courses specified in the program, completed 120 ECTS in total and 30 ECTS of them must be elective and the GPA must be 2.00 or above.
